Shila Mehta

Shila Mehta is a Kathak dance artist, choreographer and performer with over 35 years of experience in her field.  She is the founder and Artistic Director of Nupur Zankar Academy of Performing Arts & Research Centre based in Mumbai with other centres at New Jersey -USA, Ghent –Belgium and Swindon – UK. Shila was groomed as Kathak artist under eminent Gurus and Masters including Pt. Prahalad Das, Pt. Vijai Shankar, Pt. Birju Maharaj. She was mentored in Laya asthetics by Pt. SureshTalwalkar. She participated actively in the choreographies of Pt.Chitresh Das and Smt.Kumudini Lakhia. Currently, she is working with Dr Kanak Rele on understanding about Abhinaya aesthetics.    https://shilamehtakathak.in/
